This recipe makes the perfect meatball for any time of year! Filled with sautéed onions, green bell peppers, and diced bacon, these meatballs are moist and pair perfectly with garlic green beans and mashed potatoes. Let’s get to it!
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: varies, but a good starting point is 30 minutes
Ingredients
1 lb. of ground beef
1 lb. or ground pork
1 onion
1 green bell pepper
1 pack of bacon of your choice
2 tsps. of each: Lawry's salt, seasoned pepper, parsley, red pepper flakes
Garlic (measure with your heart)
3 Tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
3 Tbsp of soy sauce
¼ cup of BBQ sauce
Directions
Dice up your onion and green bell pepper and sauté in a pan on medium heat with butter and garlic (measure with your heart), stirring occasionally.
As your diced vegetables are sautéing, dice up a package of bacon and then add to the sauté pan and continue stirring until partially cooked.
In a bowl, put your ground beef, ground pork, sauces, more garlic, and seasonings. Mix with hands. (You can add an egg or breadcrumbs to bind if you want a firmer meatball).
Take your vegetables and bacon and pour them from the pan into the bowl with the meat mixture. Mix.
Pre-heat oven to 375°.
Take a 9”x13” pan and grease it. Roll the meat mixture into palm-sized balls and place them onto the pan.
Put meatballs into the oven for 30-45 minutes.
Drizzle with BBQ sauce and serve with vegetables and potatoes.
